I started at Gomez as a Progress Chaser on a hourly rate, then moved to a Stock Controller role and my contract was changed to a salary. After six years, I progressed to a Commercial Administrator role, and now work on the Commercial Planning Team as an Executive. I also had two children while being fully employed at Gomez, and have managed to find a perfect balance between work and family life. I have gained so much experience in the various roles I’ve had since I started that I have a strong understanding of all aspects of the business. My journey within the company continues to be both exciting and educational. I’m still learning everyday and particularly enjoy the fast paced environment.

I’ve worked at Gomez since 2001 and held many different roles during my time here. I’m proud to have been part of the company’s growth into what it is today. I started my career counting stock with a clipboard, and went on to become Site General Manager. I now hold the title of Commercial Site Operations Officer. I am part of an experienced and dedicated team overseeing the movement of 1000s of pallets through our site to all over the country and the world. My days are varied and the fast pace of fresh produce is unlike anything else. Gomez is about a team of people striving to deliver a difference 24/7 365.

I started with Gomez distribution in 1989 as an Information Co-ordinator when the office was just a Portakabin on the side of an orchard. As the business and site grew I took on different roles and I had the opportunity to become part of the print room team, a role which really suited me as I was ready to take on more responsibility. I was later promoted to Purchase Manager responsible for the print room, ordering all the packaging, labels, cleaning and clothing stocks. I had no experience whatsoever when I started at Gomez and challenges were plenty along with opportunity to learn and improve – it has been a great experience, one I would not change.
